News Title Offine Question Authoring Now Released!
Article Options [e-Mail this Article]     [Print this Article]

March 3, 2009, Sunnyvale, CA - Offline question authoring functionality for Mneme (assessment engine of Etudes) was successfully deployed this morning, March 3, 2009, at 4:00AM.

Etudes instructors can now author assessment questions offline, using a word processor or text editor, and then paste and import them into a dynamically-created pool into the assessment engine of Etudes. It is easy and can save authors a tremendous amount of time.

Here is what an Etudes instructor who tried this early had to say:

"This worked amazingly! Really! I spent maybe an hour or so getting four question pools ready in Word. This was about 400-500 questions. The import and paste worked well. I created 4 question pools and a final exam from the 4 question pools. Thanks so much. For about 1.5 hours, I would be able to create all my question pools and exams for a course." -- Jennifer Altenhofel

Many thanks to Murthy Tanniru, Senior Learning Systems Developer for his detailed, focused work on implementing this functionality. Paste and import supports twelve (12) question types, including full support for Respondus formats.

This work has been made possible with the Mellon Award for Technology Innovation monies that was awarded to TT&S.

The Etudes Team hopes that you find this functionality useful.
