About Melete

Developed by the Etudes team, the Melete Lesson Builder (a.k.a. Modules) is a tool that can be part of your Sakai implementation.
Melete allows instructors to publish learning sequences that can be created by using a rich text editor, uploading learning objects, or pointing to existing URL resources. Instructors can design content that supports instructor facilitated learning or system managed self-study. Lessons can be released automatically based on start and stop dates. Melete supports IMS Content Packaging and SCORM 2004 export. Future features include conditional release of lesson sequences to students based on completion of tasks. Melete stores its content in a private area of content hosting.

Future features include release of learning sequences based on completion of prerequisites and assessment scores, linking to tasks and activities, and special access.

melete pronunciation Melete - emphasis on the second syllable.

In Greek mythology, Melete was one of the three original (Boeotian) Muses, though there were later nine; her sisters were Aoide and Mneme. She was the muse of meditation and practice. Melete literally means "practice" and "exercise" in Greek in relation to studying. In Modern Greek, melete means intense, focused study - thus the name for this content tool where students spend most of their time studying.
