Roundtable
While teachers may feel alone, especially in the online
classroom, the reality is that we have many talented and
innovative colleagues throughout the state using Etudes. The
goal of this session is to form a community that can thrive
beyond this session into a virtual support and best practices
sounding board.
This session offers English instructors an opportunity to meet
with online colleagues and share our challenges and triumphs. We
will explore as many best practices and Etudes English sites as
time permits. We will introduce learners to the Users Group
spin-off Language Arts DG.
Workshop Format:
As participants enter, they will write their biggest challenge
or triumph on a tiny slip of paper which the co-facilitators
will collect. These will become the rough agenda for the
session.
The focus is on how we meet the current challenges of teaching
English and 21st Century literacies online and will undoubtedly
lead to our discoveries that some of our colleagues have found
workable and maybe even elegant solutions to them.
The computer/projector set-up will be used to share our actual
Etudes sites. Anyone offering a solution will be invited to show
the group how it actually works in his or her site. |
