Past Webinars

April 5, 2011
Vivie Sinou will give a live demonstrate of the latest version of Activity Meter (an Etudes tool under development). We expect to launch Activity Meter at the Etudes Summit in Long Beach.

March 1, 2011 (Archive)
This month's webinar will focus on Course Map, again. The Etudes Team has made a lot of progress since last month. Vivie Sinou will present the latest and greatest version of Course Map. Course Map is a new tool under development that enables instructors to guide students through the learning process. Instructors can order the sequence of items (syllabus, lessons, assignments, etc.) in one page, guiding students as to how they should move through the course. Course Map allows instructors to set 'blockers' (conditional release) for their course items, meaning that you can specify that students can't proceed to another item in the course until they have completed something else.

February 2, 2011
In this webinar, Vivie Sinou will give a "live" demo of Course Map (an early version, running in our development servers).

November 2, 2010 (Archive)
Vivie Sinou will demonstrate the designs and requirements of Activity Meter -- a new tool for Etudes that captures, stores, and displays student activity by tool and by student. It allows instructors to assess how their students are doing, what they are doing, who is actively involved, and who is not doing anything. The goal is to provide instructors with "activity" data to spot who is struggling in class so that they can intervene. The tool includes an "Early Alert" feature that tracks attendance, making it easy for instructors to contact no-shows.

October 5, 2010 (Archive)
In this webinar, Vivie will provide an overview of the latest features that were recently deployed in the Announcements tool. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to get a sneak preview of new features and functionality that will be deployed onto Etudes on November 4, 2010: a) Base Date functionality that allows instructors to set all the dates of their course forward (by a term) with two clicks;  b) Special access in Modules; c) Special access in Discussions; and, d) Formal online course evaluations support in AT&S.

June 1, 2010 (Archive)
In this webinar, Vivie will demonstrate the designs and requirements of Course Map -- a new tool for Etudes under development that will enable instructors to guide students through the learning process.

May 4, 2010 (Archive)
Demo of new Etudes Syllabus tool (deployed on 5/4/2010), and an overview of the new features and enhancements in the upcoming releases of the discussions tool and AT&S. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions on the design and business rules of the new functionality.

April 4, 2010 (Archive)
Participants will learn how to break up their classes into groups within Etudes and establish private forums for group work and collaboration. We will also cover how to group forums by section, if multiple sections of a class are loaded in one Etudes site.
Approaches about how to establish new groups throughout the term, without affecting prior forums / groups will also be presented.

March 2, 2010 (Archive)
The focus of this session will be on offline authoring of assignments, tests and surveys and bringing them into Etudes with a couple of clicks. We will also review the workflow for assembling assessments from the imported data, and getting them ready for students / delivery.
