Jim MarteneyJim Marteney

Certified Etudes Trainer & Marketing

After teaching at Los Angeles Valley College for over thirty-five years, Jim is now Professor Emeritus of Communication Studies. For his last 6 years, Jim was the college’s Distance Learning Trainer where he had the opportunity to help design instructor’s classes and improve their online teaching skills. Currently Jim is providing distance-learning training at West Lost Angeles College where he is helping develop their Quality Matters online course evaluation procedure. And, yes, he is still teaching online courses in communication. Jim is also pleased to be facilitating advanced courses in Etudes teaching strategies.

Jim has more time now because his two children have graduated from college and moved back east to live. He is torn between enjoying the freedom of the empty nest and missing his children. In his free time Jim listens and plays music on the guitar and banjo and works out including keeping up his black belt in karate. And, of course, keeping his wife of 33 years happy.
